Tribe to Tribe Conference July 2-5

In the month of July, from the 2nd – 5th we held the first Tribe to Tribe missions conference. Tribal pastors, leaders and evangelists from 18 tribes from Central America, Papua New Guinea and the USA came together to pray, praise and receive training to begin to obey the great commission and to assume the Tribal Challenge for tribes with strong churches to begin to send missionaries to the world´s 1200 – 2000 unreached Tribal Peoples.

Sue Chancellor, a dynamic Cherokee pastor from Oklahoma gave a rousing challenge to the attendants regarding the dignity of tribal identity under God. Sue talked about how even in the midst of such horror stories like the Cherokee trail of tears God was speaking to her people.

Here we are with pastor Sue Chancellor as she presents the Lord´s prayer in the beautiful Cherokee language. Sue ministered powerfully to our native pastors. She was especially touched by the Holy Spirit during my message on the Remaining Task among unreached tribal peoples around the world. She is praying about challenging and mobilizing  the 500+ tribes in the United States to send missionaries to unreached tribes around the world.

Dr. John Pande from Papua New Guinea was a key player in the event. I received the vision for this event together with Dr. Pande after preaching in his New Guinean church that meets in the Day Spring Church of God in Cincinnati Ohio. As a result of the incredible enthusiasm among the tribal leaders during the event, Dr. Pande is praying about holding a Tribe to Tribe Conference for Papua New Guinea´s 1,000 tribes speaking approximately 830 languages. It is very important to emphasize what Tribe to Tribe does not mean! It does not mean that it is joining in with the new tribalism of Postmodernism. It does mean that as God, His Spirit and His word bring  tribal peoples and cultures under His sovereign authority, and as they become disciples of  King Jesus, they will also seek to disciple other tribal peoples who do not know Him, and bring them under the gentle yoke of the truth of God´s word that sets them free. (Matthew 11:29, 28:18-19; John 8:36)

Prayer and Support Needs

1. We were robbed during the Tribe to Tribe (T2T) conference, probably due to the fact that  the van and the 4×4 were missing local thieves noticed it and took advantage of a weaker presence on the home front. This has created a maintenance crisis since it will be very expensive to replace these needed tools for continuing a dominion over the earth. We are praying for the Lord to move the hearts of His people to help with this need! Our chain saw that was robbed over 15 years ago has never been replaced! It´s not an easy process!

  • Weed eater: $527.31
  • Lawn mower: $556,00
  • Dewalt Grinder: $129.00

2. Pray for our health and for continued strength to climb mountains and walk back to tribal areas. This will be important in the coming months.
